Apache Tomcat is the servlet container that is used in the official
Reference Implementation for the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages
technologies. The Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages specifications
are developed by Sun under the Java Community Process.

NOTE: This package comes preconfigured with a default "admin" user, with
password "admin", so you don't have to edit config files manually.

The first thing you should do after installing tomcat and starting the
service is changing the admin password using the web frontend.

After starting it, Tomcat is accessible through the Apache httpd server
at http://localhost/servlets/ -- the administration and management
interfaces are accessible at http://localhost/admin/ and
http://localhost/manager/html

Tomcat can also be configured to run standalone, without httpd.
To enable this, edit /srv/tomcat/conf/server.xml (the required
configuration bits to run standalone are already there, they're
just commented out in the default configuration.
