Description:
After an update with apt-get, rpm can often create '.rpmnew' copies
of all files it knows it should not overwrite. Because of this, you
have to look at all those files and merge any changes by hand. This
can be a tedious and now, thankfully, forgotten job. With the use
of etc-update, this becomes an easy and painless task. This is a
commandline equivalent to FreeBSD's mergemaster command.
