A number of utility programs are now included with VOCP.  This file is meant to briefly introduce the function of each.  Make sure you check out the doc/ files for a detailed description of VOCP's functionality and user programs.

The VOCP box configuration interface provides a graphical UI for the VOCP administrator to create and manage the VOCP boxes. See doc/boxconf.txt

The VOCP Call Center.  Provides real time monitoring of incomming calls and caller id information as well as quick access to VOCPhax (the faxing GUI) and xVOCP (local message retrieval GUI).  See doc/callcenter.txt

Convert old style (0.8.X and previous) boxes.conf files to the new XML based format.  See doc/box-config-file.txt

Manually convert g3 faxes to another image format.

convert_fax.sh FAXNAME FORMAT [DESTINATIONDIRECTORY]

You would normally use VOCPhax.  See doc/faxes.txt

Used to log incoming call CND (caller id, name, etc) information as calls arrive.  See the doc/caller-id.txt file for details.

Setgid wrapper for password validation - calls pwcheck.pl.  Used by VOCP in cases when running as an unpriveleged user (like when running xVOCP).  This program must have mode 2755:

Validates passwords.  Must be run as a user who has permission to read the VOCP boxes.conf.shadow file.  See the pwcheck entry above and doc/boxconf.txt

Used to suspend and restart email to voicemail delivery.  Can be used directly, from within the xVOCP menu or using a script box (through the telephone).  See the doc/emails-to-speech.txt file.

Converts ascii text to the PVF sound file format, using the Festival speech synthesis engine.  See doc/text-to-speech.txt and doc/emails-to-speech.txt

VOCP Fax GUI.  Provides a graphical environment to view, create and send faxes. See the doc/faxes.txt file.

Local interface to VOCP.  You can "call in" to your VOCP system using your keyboard for input and speakers for output.  Mainly used for testing your configuration but may even be used to retrieve your voice mail or otherwise interact with VOCP.  See the doc/vocplocal.txt file.

Utility program to simplify converting .wav files to .rmd files compatible with your modem.

==     xvocp      ==

The local graphical interface for voice message retrieval.  Listen to and manage your voice mail using xVOCP.  See doc/xvocp.txt
