		Simulate this by setting up an f4c root, then rsyncing it
		to an f4e root, then upgrading, reverting and reupgrading.
* EASY:         when you have an x86_64 host, you can build both x86 and x86_64
		packages but by default the roots detect the host as x86_64, so
		you get errors because rpm uses -m64 for gcc etc. which fails
		with x86 libs the solution is to run "setarch i686 mach -r
		etc." so that everything detects the host as x86... if that
		could be automatic in mach (because  I can't think of anyone
		wanting the host being detected as x86_64 in an x86 root), it
		would simplify things for people wanting to build both x86 and
		x86_64 packages on an x86_64 host
* MEDIUM:       mach -r f5e64 setup on a 64-bit machine in 32-bit mode
	        fails because yum doesn't see any packages - the arch doesn't
	        match I assume.  On 32 bit however, setting up a 64-bit
		root does seem to work.  check excludearch stuff ?

* MEDIUM:       a quick mach thing : I just updated my build machine to RHEL4u4, and apparently an update (probably rpm) broke my mach setup... it was unable to create the /var/lib/mach/roots/fedora-development-x86_64-freshrpms/var/lock/rpm/transaction file, and all I needed to do is add an ensure_dir line for the var/log/rpm dir in mach to fix it

* HARD:		rpm --aid
0) Create an /8.0/i386 mount point with all the packages for Red Hat 8.0.
You can use anything you want, I use /8.0/i386.

1) Install the rpmdb-redhat package from /8.0/i386.

2) Edit /etc/rpm/macros, and supply the path to the package.
Here's what I use
    %_solve_dbpath          /usr/lib/rpmdb/%{_arch}-%{_vendor}-%{_os}/redhat
    %_solve_pkgsdir         /8.0/i386/
    %_solve_name_fmt        %{?_solve_pkgsdir}%%{NAME}-%%{VERSION}-%%{RELEASE}.%%{ARCH}.rpm

That will make --aid functional.
