If you have installed Beacon from the RPM then cheer up as 
most of the work has been done for you :)

Please follow the instructions given in README_DATABASE.

In addition, if you wish to change the default location where
beacon resides, please be sure to chage te settings in
beacon.conf and also in httpd-beacon.conf.
