------------- PySBIG module ------------- This module can read SBIG files and give you a numpy array for the data and a dictionary for the headers. For the latest version goto: http://coldstonelabs.org ---------- Installing ---------- This module require numpy to be installed you can get numpy at: http://numpy.scipy.org To install the module untar the package goto the directory and run: python setup.py install ------------- Example Usage ------------- import PySBIG sbig = PySBIG.PySBIG("mysbigfile.st9") data = sbig.getData(); #two dimentional array headers = sbig.getHeaders(); #dictionary ------- NOTE: Now there is a module that uses a C function to uncompress each line, it is around 40 times faster. To use it substitude PySBIG with cPySBIG. ------- import cPySBIG sbig = cPySBIG.cPySBIG("mysbigfile.st9") data = sbig.getData(); #two dimentional array headers = sbig.getHeaders(); #dictionary ---- Todo ---- o Have less same code in both cPySBIG and PySBIG. o Write/save SBIG files. ------- Authors ------- Russell Valentine (russ@coldstonelabs.org)
