Requirements: Requirements: ibus should be install, Now a days it is available by default in all distros You should install indic-ibus-table first. This packages already present in Fedora. Fedora 14: $sudo yum --enablerepo=updates-testing install hindi-typing-booster -y Fedora 15 $sudo yum install hindi-typing-booster -y For other distribution steps are as follows: Debian and Ubuntu for dependancies one need to install following packages sudo apt-get install autopoint libtool pkg-config autotools-dev automake ibus libibus-dev Then execute following steps 1) git clone http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/ibus-indic-table.git 2) cd ibus-indic-table/ibus-indic-table 3) ./autogen --prefix=/usr 4) make 5) sudo make install For Hindi 1) git clone http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/indic-typing-booster.git (it will take some time, due to large size) 2) cd indic-typing-booster/hindi-typing-booster/ 3) ./autogen --prefix=/usr 4) make 5) sudo make install 6) right click on ibus and restart it right click from preferences->language-> add hindi-phonetic or hindi-inscript layout 7) Done Now in text area enable select hindi-phonetic or hindhi-inscript method and start using it.
