<div><p>The module or chain complex provided should be over a ring whose degree length (see <a href="_degree__Length.html" title="the number of degrees">degreeLength</a>) is the same as the length of the list <tt>w</tt>.  The dot products of w with the multi-degrees occurring will be used in the resulting computation.</p>
