Unfortunately, this was undocumented behavior. </p> <p> For consistency with the other Berkeley DB methods that handle <a href="../programmer_reference/program_errorret.html#program_errorret.DB_KEYEMPTY" class="olink">DB_KEYEMPTY</a>, this is no longer the case.
