The major advantage of this is that as ‘<samp><span class="samp">#</span></samp>’ is also a comment character for unix script files, any file that starts with a string like ‘<samp><span class="samp">#! /usr/bin/octave -q</span></samp>’ will be treated as an octave script and be executed by octave. </body></html>
