The main todo is a proper testing algorithm that 

1) doesn't fail on vfat 
   (maybe not using 'stat -f -c %T FILENAME' to ascertain filesystem type)
2) Catch and handle non simple cases
   eg: Aa aA both -> aa.
I have thunked out a nice way of doing this with bash/unix, and will
~probably~ do so sometime soon.
