GKrellStock: GKrellM Stock Plugin Author: M.R.Muthu Kumar <m_muthukumar@users.sourceforge.net> install: make make install (as root) make userinstall (installs $HOME/.gkrellm/plugins also installs GetQuote2 script to $HOME/bin directory, please add this directory to your path ) upgrade from GkrellStock-0.3: If you are upgrading from any previous releases to GKrellStock-0.4 you need to re-enter your stock tickers because 0.4 stores and retrives tickers differently. require: - Finance::Quote perl module. - GetQuote2 perl script which comes with this package. This script must be in your path if you are not using make install which installs this scripts in /usr/X11R6/bin/ - Asia.pm if you want to use with Asian Markets (excpet Japan) which comes with this tarball for now. Hopefully it will be part of Finance::Quote in their next release. To use Asian Market as your source you should copy Asia.pm to your corresponding site-perl directory for example : /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/Finance/Quote/Yahoo/ You have to use SYMBOL.EXCHANGE where the exchange code is one of the following : SI - Singapore BO - Bombay JK - Jakarta HK - Hong Kong NS - India KS - Korea KL - Kuala Lumpur NZ - New Zealand SS - Shanghai SZ - Shenzhen TW - Taiwan TH - Thailand comments : I wrote this to have quick look at some stock prices at a glance. Beware that prices are 20 minutes delayed and so use it for information purposes only don't use it for day trading (just kidding). Thought this may be useful for others also.
