<span class="target" id="index-0"></span><p id="index-1">The modules described in this chapter implement Internet protocols and support
for related technology. They are all implemented in Python. Most of these
modules require the presence of the system-dependent module <a class="reference internal" href="socket.html#module-socket" title="socket: Low-level networking interface."><code class="xref py py-mod docutils literal"><span class="pre">socket</span></code></a>, which
