Teams is a Type 1 Cyrillic font developed by TopTeam Co. - a Bulgarian publishing house.
We use it to publish our own newspapers and magazines (among which, by the way, are ComputerNews, Internet, Web.bg, Linux, BYTE.bg).
More information about the Teams font plus latest versions can be found at http://linux.web.bg/fonts.html.

What does Cyrillic mean?
Cyrillic is the name of the alphabet used in Bulgaria which is a small country situated in the middle of Balkan peninsula in Southeastern Europe. Still Cyrillic alphabets are widely used in Europe and Asia in countries like Russia, Ucraine, Byelarussia, Serbia, Macedonia, and in some Eastern Orthodox churches. It was used even in Mongolia, but they dropped it.
The alphabet was designed for Slavic languages. It was made by St. ClÄment of Ohrida. He based it on Greek alphabet and on a previous alphabet (Glagolitsa) designed by his teachers St. Cyril of Constantine and St. Methodius. Slavic languages have more sounds than Greek (and do not use some of the Greek ones) so the letters for the somewhat coinciding sounds came from the Greek alphabet and the letters for the unique Slavic sounds came from the Glagolitsa.

Why are you giving your font for free?
Because usage of open source softuare in countries using Cyrillic alphabets is restrained due to the lack of enough fonts. We would like to help the open source community becuse it has already helped us greatly. We use open source software on daily basis and its quality saves us time, money and most of heart attacks situations due to blue screens, virus attacks and constant need for additional 128 MB of RAM.

Why isn't the font under a GPL or LGPL license?
These licenses are meant for other purposes, not fonts. They are not appropriate in this case. Even FSF uses other licenses - for example there is a license for documentation.

Why X license?
It is popular, and serves the purpose to give you enough freedom do deal with the font.

Why don't Cyrillic letters show?
Use the adobe-fontspecific versions, not Microsoft-cp1251. They are provided in case someone fixes the way encodings are treted in X.
