You press <span class="emphasis"><em>:</em></span> (without the apostrophes, of course) and type in the command, then you press enter. E.g., <span class="emphasis"><em>:set config.saving_style = 3</em></span> (this is a good thing), <span class="emphasis"><em>:quit</em></span> (and the game is over).
