GAI Visual Audio v0.3 ============================== Thanks for downloading this applet! This is a small applet that displays the specturm or scope of the sound currently played by XMMS. News in v0.3 -------------- - New XMMS plugin - Much nicer (uses mmap()) - Bluscope bug is fixed. - Blurscope now understands stereo/mixed to mono - About box bug fixed. - Logo is shown when XMMS isn't running. News in v0.2 -------------- - Now both left and right channel is considered when drawing specturm and flower. - The flower's is better drawn. - The spectrum can draw the left and right channel seperate or mixed. Thanks to Lem <l3mming@iinet.net.au> for realizing that only the left channel was drawn! Installation ------------ The library GAI(General Applet Interface) is needed. You can find it at http://gai.sourceforge.net And you have to have XMMS installed to have any use of this applet. You can get it at www.xmms.org When you've made sure that you have GAI and XMMS, just type ./configure make (possible become root) make install If gnome is installed, the applet will be installed in the gnome binary directory, and an icon for it will be added under "Multimedia". Remember that you have to restart the gnome panel in order to reload the menu settings. (If you know some other way of updating installed programs, please mail me.) Otherwise default binary directory is /usr/local/bin/ The XMMS plugin has to be installed. It requires GTK+ 1.2.x, because XMMS is depends on it. To compile and install it to: cd plugin make (possible become root) make install Then turn on the visulization plugin named "Freq and pcm outputs for GAI applets" in XMMS and start the applet, and enjoy! Notice, the plugin requires a writable /tmp catalog. Homepage -------- This applet and some other applets live at http://gai.sourceforge.net Have fun! Jonas Aaberg <cja@gmx.net>
