Yes! I did this, despite of many prominient Linux guys claiming that it would be impossible to do so. (Hint: Alan Cox and Linus Torvalds on linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu). For the hacker's convenience I'm providing all the tools used during it's development too: src/ The source of the driver program itself. This is what the normal user will need. crack/ The program used to reverse engine the protocol used to provide the printer with image data. REQUIREMENTS: This package needs (obviously) the GhostScript rendering engine to work. Second there where bogous workarounds for various inferior printers in late 2.0 and early 2.2.x kernel. This lead to the fact that the printer used only to print some rester lines and hung. The 2.2.9 kernel appears to work fine for me. IN ANY CASE READ THE MANUAL PAGE FOR THIS DRIVER AND PLEASE BE WARNED! The manual page is oki4drv.8. You can invoke it by issuing: man oki4drv at the prompt after installation. INSTALATION: cd src make make install The driver programm is oki4drv and it will be installed in /usr/sbin. USAGE: RTFM. Read it really!
