lvm1-1.0.8-3.1.100mdk.i586.rpm

						LVM 1.0.8
						$Date: 2003/11/17 15:58:54 $
This directory contains the version 1.0.8 release of
Heinz Mauelshagen's LVM (Logical Volume Manager) for Linux

This release should allow you to continue to use the old data
format (version 1) which was used by beta7 tools and below, as well as the
new format (version 2) which was used by beta8 and 1.0. There is no longer
a need to undertake the upgrade process which was described in the 0.9.1
beta8 and LVM 1.0 release notes. It also adds support for linux-2.4.22 as
well as a couple of minor bug fixes and enhancements.

Look for newer versions and additional information at
http://www.sistina.com/lvm/

The LVM driver was included in the stock kernel since Linux 2.3.47.

What is LVM:
LVM includes all of the support for handling read/write operations on
physical volumes (hard disks, RAID-Systems, magneto optical, etc.,
multiple devices (MD), see mdadd(8) or even loop devices, see losetup(8)),
creating volume groups (kind of virtual disks) from one or more physical
volumes and creating one or more logical volumes (kind of logical partitions)
in volume groups.

LVM is free software.

See the file COPYING and COPYING.LIB for copying permission.

See INSTALL for a copy of the installation information as plain ASCII.

See LVM-HOWTO for further information.

KNOWN_BUGS contains information about what it says :-)
