  <title>Printing patterns</title>
  <para>
    Once you have completed your design, you will no doubt want to print it. &kapp; allows
    you to customize the printing, from what is printed to how big the final print is.
  </para>

    The standard &kde; print dialog has a &kapp; specific page, allowing you to change the
    print options. The general layout of a printed pattern includes:

        <term>A front sheet</term>

            The front sheet contains the title and author of the pattern, an image of the design
            and a copyright message if appropriate.

        <term>Floss key</term>

            The floss key will be printed, sorted by name, followed by the usage in metres and in stitches.
            The number of stitches can either be comprehensive, with all the individual stitch types totalled,
            or all of the fractional stitches can be combined and totalled together.

        <term>The pattern</term>

            The pattern will be printed on as many sheets as necessary. The grid squares per inch value and
            the minimum spill over value can be adjusted to change the number of sheets. The minimum spiil
            over is the minimum number of cells that appear on a sheet of their own.

            Alternatively you can use the Fit to single page option to print the pattern on a single sheet.
          </para>

            As an aid to the position of the sheets in the overall pattern, a key plan is displayed in the
            top right corner of each sheet.
