The entities file in the xtux data directory describes the entity types found in the game. The entities file is parsed by functions in the sourcecode file src/common/entity_type.c. An entity entry starts with the header of the entity name enclosed in square brackets, ie "[FRED]". All following values until another entity name in square brackets are used to fill in details about FRED. Each entity needs information about how it acts on the server, ie it's health, speed, height, width etc and also information on how it is drawn on the client. Value Data Type Description ------------------------------------------------------------ class string One of either GOODIE, BADDIE, NEUTRAL, PROJECTILE or ITEM. health integer Starting (and maximum) health. width integer Width used for clipping on server. height integer similar to width speed integer Maximum speed of entity. accel integer Accelaration in pixels/frame weapon STRING Default weapon for entities and the weapon a projectile represents. Corresponds to a weapon listed in the "weapons" config file. draw_weapon boolean (0/1) Is current weapon drawn in client? bleeder boolean Entity bleeds when shot? sight integer Sight in pixels, used in AI. touchdamage integer Damage per second a BADDIE inflicts on a GOODIE. drip1 integer Colour #1 entity "drips" on client. drip2 integer Colour #2 entity "drips" on client. cliplevel STRING Cliplevel of entity on the map. ai STRING AI type. item_action STRING What the item does to a GOODIE that picks it up. See items file. item_value integer Amount item affects pick-upper. item_respawn_time integer Time in seconds to respawn in HOLYWAR deathmatch mode. item_weapon STRING Weapon that the item gives you if it is a type GIVEWEAPON. item_ammo_type STRING Ammunition type (amount = item_value) given if item action is GIVEAMMO.
