<h3>1.  INTRODUCTION</h3>

<p>This scope of the <em>Modeler</em> component is to provide a class library
supporting the creation and use of <strong>Model MBeans</strong> to manage
application resources via tools that implement the <em>Java Management
Extensions</em> (JMX) APIs.</p>

<h3>2.  DEPENDENCIES</h3>

<p>The <em>Modeler</em> component is dependent upon the following external
components for development and use:</p>
<ul>

    (Version 1.2 or later)</li>
<li><a href="http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/digester"/>Jakarta Commons Digester</a> (Optional)</li>
<li><a href="http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/logging"/>Jakarta Commons Logging</a></li>
<li>A JMX compliant implementation, like the <a href="http://java.sun.com/products/JavaManagement/download.html">JMX Instrumentation and Agent Specification reference implementation</a> or <a href="http://www.open-jmx.org">OpenJMX</a></li>
</ul>
