* Fix the assert thing in the emulator code.

* choosing use the default font from the preferences dialog results in

Bugs to be verified:
* Segfault related to the search dialog, Should be fixed by now.
* search dialog should exit after the last one.
* add the text direction menu to the extended toolbar, Find a way to
   get them back with Gtk+ >= 2.4
