Recientemente, me quise asegurar de tener suficiente espacio para hacer un backup mis imágenes y videos digitales hogareños, así que compré un nuevo disco rígido y lo agregué a mi servidor Linux. Moví todos los archivos que quise guardar a un solo disco rígido y reparticioné el viejo disco para poder pasar a una versión nueva de Linux. Luego de pasar por el proceso de resinstalar el sistema operativo, monté el disco de backup y descubrí que estaba vacío. Había de alguna manera mezclado el disco que usé como backup y el disco que quería borrar. Como había hecho un trabajo tan pobre en retener backups de los archivos externos, no tenía backups de mis imágenes y videos.
