In this case the <span class="application">CUPS</span> server broadcasts its presence to the entire network. This is the default configuration. </p> <p><a name="BIdNEW-printerdrake-pa88"></a>In the second method, the <span class="application">CUPS</span> daemon is still required to manage the queue and to handle jobs coming in on port <code class="literal">631</code>, but it does not broadcast its presence to the network. In this case the clients do not need to run a <span class="application">CUPS</span> daemon, instead they have a configuration file which contains the <acronym class="acronym">IP</acronym> address of the server. Printers are normally made available to other computers in the local network. Use this option to remove a printer from those available to the system's users. You might need to temporarily disable a printer under maintenance so that users don't try to use it in the meantime. Displays information on how to use a particular printer model.
