<p>You can manage all your e-mail using
<span class="application">KMail</span>, a complete and full featured mail
client supporting multiple mail protocols (<acronym class="acronym">POP3</acronym>,
<acronym class="acronym">IMAP</acronym>, <acronym class="acronym">SMTP</acronym>), security enhancements
and spam filtering, etc. We present its interface and basic usage,
please refer to the <a class="ulink" href="http://kontact.kde.org/kmail/" target="_top">KMail Home Page</a> for
more information.

<p><span class="inlinemediaobject"><img src="images/internet-kmail-button.png"></span>Launch <span class="application">KMail</span> by
choosing <span class="guimenu">Internet</span> → <span class="guimenuitem">KMail Mail Client</span> from the main menu. The first time a wizard appears to
setup your main mail account: fill it with the configuration information
(account type, login and password, mail servers) provided to you by your
ISP or network administrator.

<p>You can browse the web with <span class="application">Firefox</span>, a
state-of-the-art web browser supporting tabbed browsing, security
enhancements, search suggestions, RSS feeds, multimedia online content
(such as Java<sup>tm</sup> and
Flash<sup>®</sup>), etc. Here we concentrate on its
interface and basic usage, please refer to the <a class="ulink" href="http://www.firefox.com" target="_top">Firefox Home Page</a> for more
information.

<p><span class="inlinemediaobject"><img src="images/mozilla-firefox.png"></span>Launch <span class="application">Firefox</span> by
choosing <span class="guimenu">Internet</span> → <span class="guimenuitem">Firefox Web Browser</span> from the main menu. One of the main features of
<span class="application">Firefox</span> is tabbed navigation which allows you
to browse many websites at the same time without opening another browser
window (see <a class="xref" href="ch02s03.html#tab-browsing" title="Figure 2.4. Tab-Surfing the Web with Firefox">Figure 2.4, “Tab-Surfing the Web with Firefox”</a>). Just hit <span class="keycap"><strong>Ctrl</strong></span>+<span class="keycap"><strong>T</strong></span> to open a new tab and <span class="keycap"><strong>Ctrl</strong></span>+<span class="keycap"><strong>W</strong></span> to close the currently open one.
