              detected on your hard drive. Please choose the one you want to resize in
              order to install your new <span class="application">Mandriva Linux</span>
              operating system.

         <p><a name="BId-resizeFATChoose-pa2"></a>Each partition
              is listed as follows: "Linux name", "Windows name" "Capacity", "Filesystem
              Type".
         </p>
         
           
         
           
         <p><a name="BId-resizeFATChoose-pa3"></a>"Linux name" is
              structured: "sd" followed by "hard drive number" and "partition number" (for
              example, "sda1").
         </p>
         
           
         <p><a name="BId-resizeFATChoose-pa5"></a>"Hard drive
              number" is always a letter after "sd" that depends on the controller the
              drive is connected to. For example, with <acronym class="acronym">IDE</acronym> hard drives:

              hard drives, an "a" means "lowest <acronym class="acronym">SCSI</acronym> ID", a "b" means
              "second lowest <acronym class="acronym">SCSI</acronym> ID", etc.

              is the letter of your hard drive under <span class="application">Windows
                 <sup>&reg;</sup></span> (the first disk or partition is
              called "C:"). "Filesystem Type" is the name of the file system:
              <code class="literal">fat</code>, <code class="literal">vfat</code> (<acronym class="acronym">FAT32</acronym>),
              <code class="literal">ntfs</code>.
