have chosen to reuse existing <span class="application">Linux</span>
partitions.

<p><a name="BId-ask_mntpoint_s-pa1"></a>Listed here are
the existing Linux partitions detected on your hard drive, with the
corresponding associated mount points. If you are unsure, keep the automatic
settings.

<p><a name="BId-ask_mntpoint_s-pa2"></a>Each partition is
listed as follows: “<span class="quote">Name</span>” (“<span class="quote">Capacity</span>”,
“<span class="quote">Detected mount point</span>”, “<span class="quote">File System
Type</span>”).

<p><a name="BIdNEW-ask_mntpoint_s-pa6"></a>If for any
reason the mount points are not detected or if you make changes, you must
at least define a <a class="indexterm" name="BId-ask_mntpoint_s-it1"></a> <a class="indexterm" name="BId-ask_mntpoint_s-it2"></a> root partition (<code class="literal">/</code>). Do not
choose too small a partition or you will not be able to install enough
software. If you want to store your data on a separate partition, you will
also need to define a <code class="literal">/home</code> partition (only possible if
you have more than one <span class="application">Linux</span> partition
available).

“<span class="quote">hard drive type</span>”, “<span class="quote">hard drive number</span>”,
“<span class="quote">partition number</span>”.
