The <code class="methodname">DbEnv::get_msgfile()</code> method returns the <code class="literal">FILE *</code> used for displaying messages.
This is set using the <a class="xref" href="envset_msgfile.html" title="DbEnv::set_msgfile()">DbEnv::set_msgfile()</a> method.

The <code class="methodname">DbEnv::get_msgfile()</code> method may be called at any time during the
life of the application.
