What is current missing in XRally: This is my roadmap. It is far from being permanent, but at least it gives a good idea of how the game will evolve. Version 1.1: (Only minor additions) - Sound enhancements - esound support Version 1.2: (rewrite of game engine) - Bridge support (go only from left to right, down to up) - Improve tilesets customizabilition (define files) - Rewrite the map data as a linked list (fix the non-block/non-road bug) - A nice AI (maybe something using A*) - Optional Random placement of flags and pits - Special flag (2 x score) - Option: Crash when hitting confused enemys - Improve radar system (custom radar) - Display where the car has walked - Music in title screen / high scores - New original tunes Version 1.3: (new types of gameplay) - Different car speeds ( Low / High gears ) - New game types: not 90° turns, racing game - New objetive for AIs: Get the flags before the player - Bomberman-like itens (time stop, speed increase, etc.) Version 1.4 (or maybe 2.0): (multiplayer!) - Network play - One player as the blue, the others as the red - Every player by himself - More than one player in the same computer - Arcade style - Splitting screen For a near future: - X code rewrite -> Better exit, desktop icons for WindowMaker and KDE - Restart and pause keys - Map editor -> Being done (contact ksb@crosslink.net) - Garage -> Safe place - Unlimited fuel option - No smokes option
