		New Dutch ISPELL dictionary
		---------------------------

Here you find a compressed wordlist (dutch96.lat) and its matching
affix file (dutch96.aff) based upon our new Dutch spelling. The
compressed wordlist is derived from the dictionary woor-den.max
available in:
   ftp://ftp.tue.nl/pub/tex/GB95/spell-nl-XXX/woorden/latin1/.

For convenience (you don't need to run munchlist) I have also created a
compressed wordlist (dutch93.lat) using the same affix file (dutch96.aff)
for the dictionary available in:
   ftp://archive.cs.ruu.nl/pub/UNIX/ispell/words.dutch.gz.

Both wordlists are encoded in ISO Latin1. For more information about
our new spelling you can consult:
   http://home.pi.net/~fg/words.htm (maintained by Frans Goddijn).

Here a very short instruction for installing the new wordlist in ISPELL
on UNIX:

(1) you *need* an 8bit version of ISPELL (`ispell -vv' will report this
    with `!NO8BIT (8BIT)').

(2) With buildhash you can build the file `nederlands.hash' from dutch96.lat
(compressed ISPELL dictionary based upon woor-den.max from the ftp
    server mentioned above):

       buildhash dutch96.lat dutch96.aff nederlands.hash

(3) Install nederlands.hash (and eventually dutch96.aff) in the appropriate
    directory of ISPELL

       mv nederlands.hash /usr/local/ispell-3.1.20/lib
       cp dutch96.aff /usr/local/ispell-3.1.20/lib/nederlands.aff

(4) You should now be able to correct most of the spelling errors in
    the example file `woorden.tex':

       ispell -d nederlands woorden.tex

(5) You can also install the dictionary based upon the `Groene Boekje' of
    1993:

	buildhash dutch93.lat dutch96.aff nederlands93.hash
	mv nederlands93.hash /usr/local/ispell-3.1.20/lib

(6) I have compiled a 8bit version of ISPELL for our DOS/Win32 friends.
This package including executables, sources and compressed word lists
is available in ispellw32.zip (see ispellw32.README).

Happy ISPELL-ing!
