This produces a new file whose filename is equivalent to the one specified by <CODE>fn</CODE>, except that a <CODE>'c'</CODE> is appended to the name. For example, if <CODE>fn</CODE> is set to <CODE>init.sl</CODE>, then the new file will have the name exmp{init.slc}. The meaning of the second parameter, <CODE>reserved</CODE>, is reserved for future use.
