1. Introduction to uptimed
--------------------------

I am a Linux geek and therefore I keep my computer on all the time to get
high uptimes. It's a bit inconvenient to check and remind my highest uptimes
all by myself, so I wrote a little program that will do it for me: uptimed.

Uptimed comes with a console utility called uprecords to view the records.
Both programs are configurable and uprecords can easily be used to show your
records on your webpage.

There is a (low-traffic) mailinglist for Uptimed release announcements or
general discussion of the program.
