halfd.cgi is a Common Gateway Interface (CGI) script that is meant to be executed by a web server. Install halfd first, and verify that it's working properly. If you can connect from hlgui, and get status information, then you're ready. Copy "halfd.cgi" to the cgi-bin/ directory on your webserver. The webserver does not have to be running on the same machine as halfd. To configure the script to work in your environment, you *must* edit the source code. There are some configuration parameters at the top that you need to set up. If you don't set the parameters up, the script will not work. Once you have everything set up properly (script in cgi-bin/, parameters edited), you'll want to test it from your browser by hitting a URL like this: http://www.yourdomain.org/cgi-bin/halfd.cgi The script will display a screenshot of the current map. For a library of screenshots, go here: http://hlmaps.sourceforge.net Read the comments for details. If you have problems, visit the forum at http://www.halfd.org
