To compile and/or install the program please read the INSTALL file first,
note that the prefix option assume no meaning because the gnomame install
itself into the gnome environment that you can see with the gnome-config
script.
The installation script create a gnomame directory into the $(GNOMELIBDIR)
directory than create a series of symbolic links to the standard gnome
dirs (bin, share, etc.), here the list :

$(GNOMELIBDIR)/gnomame               : All the gnomame package files
$(GNOMEBINDIR)/gnomame               : Executable (Link to file)
$(GNOMEDATADIR)/pixmaps/gnomame      : Icons (Link to dir)
$(GNOMEDATADIR)/gnome/help/gnomame   : Html help (Link to dir)
$(GNOMEDATADIR)/gnome/apps/Games/gnomame.desktop : Menu link (Link to file)

PACKAGE CREATION
There are two scripts that I use to create packages :

maketar : A shell script that create a .tar.gz file into parent directory

makerpm : Create an rpm but you must have write permission for /usr/src/RPM/*
          directories
