2. What's wordtrans?
Wordtrans is a front-end for several dictionaries made with the Qt
toolkit.
Wordtrans allows you to use several dictionaries. Right now the
following dictionaries are supported:
· Some plain text dictionaries such as i2e and de-en. The English-
Spanish dictionary i2e has 24,401 translations and the German-
English has 111,088. The interesting thing of these dictionaries
is that new translations can be added. This is something that
cannot be done in the rest of supported dictionaries.
· Babylon Translator dictionaries. Babylon Translator is a shareware
application for windows, but if you have it installed you can use
it under linux, too, by using BabyTrans or Wordtrans.
· Dict server dictionaries. The dict server can manage many useful
dictionaries.
Wordtrans can also watch the clipboard and translate automatically the
word which is there. That means that double clicking in any word in
(almost) any application will make that wordtrans translate it.
Wordtrans has some front-ends:
wordtrans
This is the console version. Lets you search and add new terms
to any available dictionary.
qwordtrans
Version for X-Window made with the Qt toolkit.
kwordtrans
Version for KDE 2.
3. New
Here is a list with the most important changes. More details in
ChangeLog.gz.
3.1. Versión 1.0.1
· The option for docking and hiding the main window disappears
because now it's not necessary. Now clicking the minimize button
will make more or less the same function.
· The program tries to fix some of the mistakes a user can make when
selecting a text. For instance, the spaces, dots and comas at the
beginning and at the end are automatically removed. This only
works with the text which is taken from the clipboard. The text
typed by the user is not modified.
· The konqueror didn't open the right page when clicking in the
"about:doc" link in the kwordtrans. Fixed.
· Some aesthetic changes in the web interface (new logo, white
background, translation of the title to English).
3.2. Version 1.0final0
· Now KUniqueApplication is used in the kde version so only one
instance of kwordtrans can be running.
· Added a new option for docking the kwordtrans in the kde panel AND
hide the main window.
· Documentation is now installed in /usr/share/doc/wordtrans-doc
instead of /usr/share/doc/wordtrans.
· New icons for the menus. They are "stolen" from the KDE 2.
· At last the web interface works in English. Please read the
instructions in /usr/share/doc/wordtrans-web/README. Notice: it's
needed to activate the cookies in your browser.
· Now the sources should compile with g++ 3.0.
· Added man pages for qwordtrans and kwordtrans.
3.3. Version 1.0beta3
· Fixed a problem with the printing.
· The packages wordtrans-console, wordtrans-qt and wordtrans-kde now
suggest (instead of recommending) the Spanish-English and German-
English dictionaries, so the dselect users won't be annoyed
anymore.
3.4. Version 1.0beta2
· The Spanish translation didn't work well with the KDE 2.1
libraries. Fixed.
3.5. Version 1.0beta1
· The tool bars now save their position.
· It seems the program could not be compiled in some systems. Now
this should be fixed.
· The mini-window can be closed by pressing the <Esc> key.
· If the clipboard checking is on and you select a text beginning
with "http:" now a web browser is not invoked to open that URL.
· Now qwordtrans and kwordtrans are installed in /usr/bin/ instead of
/usr/X11R6/bin/
3.6. Version 0.9
· The KDE version, kwordtrans, returns again.
· Option for docking kwordtrans in the KDE panel, moreover a mini-
window can be shown with the result of the last search (this option
will be useless if you don't activate the option for watching the
clipboard). This window will be automatically closed when you
click on it. I think this new feature could be very useful.
· The main window can be more personalised.
· Added a history, with the latest searches.
· Created a web interface in php, although it is still very basic.
· Added new options to wordtrans, to collaborate with the web
interface (--html, --desc, --info-server, --info-dict and --html-
base).
· Added the option --conf, which allows you to select the directory
where the configuration files will be looked for. This option is
mainly to be used by the web interface but you can also use it to
allow several users to share the configuration files. This option
will work in qwordtrans and kwordtrans, too, but in that case the
modifications done to the configuration of the dictionaries will be
lost.
· Now is possible to save or print the text shown in the output
window.
· Possibility of open new windows of qwordtrans (or kwordtrans).
· Updated the library of Babytrans (libbab).
3.7. Version 0.8
· (Almost) full support for unicode strings, by using the new QString
from Qt 2. This allows displaying correctly dictionaries encoded in
the UTF-8 format.
· Now the links which finish in another line are managed correctly.
· New option to ignore accented vowels in the word to look for. So
"camión" and "camion" are the same. This only works in i2e and de-
en dictionaries.
· Added two buttons in the toolbar to navigate among the latest
pages, like in a web browser.
· Now it's possible choosing the dictionary you want to consult in
the text box, along the word you want to find. To do it you have to
use this format: alias:word. For example: i2e:car (this will
search "car" in the "i2e" dictionary.
· You may type the following sentences with special meaning:
about:wordtrans, about:dictionary, about:server and about:database.
· Added a menu to choose you favourite style. As a side-effect the
option -style won't work anymore.
· It can even be compiled with the QT_NO_COMPAT and QT_NO_ASCII_CAST
flags.
· It's possible to compile without support for Babylon Translator's
dictionaries.
· Added a Makefile.config file, where you can modify some compiling
options.
· Removed all qt1-compatibility files, reducing in 20 Kb the size of
the tar.gz with the sources.
· Localised description of dictionaries (the description can be
translated to other languages).
· It's possible to use pipes instead of temporary file for
communication with other processes (you have to select it in the
Makefile.config file.
· New dialog allowing you filling the questionnaire included in
wordtrans, and then send it just by clicking a button.
· Added a HTML viewer to be able to see the documentation so now
there's no need for an external web browser.
3.8. Version 0.7
· Added support for the dict server dictionaries.
· Added a new menu (View) with options to see the introduction of
this application, description of the selected dictionary,
information about a dict server and the selected database.
· Fixed a security bug.
· Fixed some other bugs.
3.9. Version 0.6.5
· Support for Babylon Translator's dictionaries. I think this is a
very important feature. This support has been achieved using some
code from BabyTrans by Frederic Jolliton <fjolliton@free.fr>.
· Support for compressed dictionaries. Now wordtrans can search in
dictionaries compressed with gzip. The file you can compress is the
main dictionary. The personal dictionary SHOULDN'T BE COMPRESSED.
If it is, wordtrans would search in it correctly, but when you add
a new translation wordtrans won't check if it is compressed or not,
supposing it is not compressed. So if you add new translations to
your (compressed) personal dictionary you will only get a corrupt
file. NOTE: Babylon Translator's dictionaries shouldn't be
compressed either.
· Every dictionary can have a description which will show in the
output window every time a dictionary is selected. Here can go
copyright info, where to download the dictionary, how to install
it, etc. This text can be edited in the dictionary editing dialog.
· Clicking with the mouse right button on the output window a popup
menu will show, allowing you to copy the text to the clipboard and
change the font. All of this only works with Qt 2.
4. Files
Before going on I have to say something about the files wordtrans
uses.
The first time one of the front-ends is run, the hidden directory
~/.wordtrans/ will be created and the files in /etc/wordtrans/ will be
copied to it.
These files have the information for every dictionary that wordtrans
can manage, and can be edited or created new ones with the front-ends
qwordtrans and kwordtrans. If you use the console version you may edit
them by hand because they are just text files.
I have to emphasise that the front-ends only work with the files in
~/.wordtrans/ and NOT with files in /etc/wordtrans/, although since
version 0.8.2 you can use the option --conf to specify the directory
where the configuration files would be looked for.
Both qwordtrans and kwordtrans will save its preferences in
~/.wordtrans/preferencias .
The console version reads from ~/.wordtrans/preferencias the default
dictionary.
5. wordtrans
wordtrans is the console version.
5.1. Usage
wordtrans [-v] [--help] [--dicts] [--desc] [--info-server] [--info-dict]
[--html] [--html-base page] [--conf dir] [-d alias] [+w] [-w]
[+c] [-c] [+i] [-i] [+g] [-g] [-l w_lang1 w_lang2] word
-v Display the version number.
--help
Shows a helping message.
--dicts
Display all available dictionaries. The info will be quite
similar to this:
Available dictionaries:
ALIAS w c i FILE
de-en + - + /usr/share/trans/de-en
i2e + - + /usr/share/i2e/i2e.dict
The alias will be used to select a dictionary with option -d. File
shows the main dictionary. There are three columns showing the
default options, in other words, if below w is the + symbol this
means that option +w is the default option. If instead there were
a - then the default option would be -w. Idem with +c/-c and +i/-i.
-d alias
Selects the dictionary to use. alias must be one of the shown
with option --dicts. It's very important that this option will
be the first, because when loading a dictionary its default
options will be loaded too. If this option is not used wordtrans
will automatically select the default dictionary (the one which
is in ~/.wordtrans/preferencias). If the default dictionary
couldn't be selected then the first dictionary found will be
used. If there's none, wordtrans will exit with an error
message.
+w Only full words will be searched. If you look for "casa" only
the terms which contain the full word casa will be shown but not
the ones which contain casarse or escasamente.
-w This is the opposite option of +w.
+c Case sensitive.
-c Not case sensitive.
+i Display second language first.
-i The opposite of previous option.
-l word_language1 word_language2
Append a new entry in the selected dictionary composed of the
words indicated and exits. If any word has blanks then the word
should be between quotation marks. You must introduce the word
in the proper order. If the dictionary is English-Spanish then
the first word should be the English one followed by the Spanish
one. The new translations will be saved in the personal
dictionary.
word
Word or regular expression to look for in the selected
dictionary. If the expression contains blanks then it should be
between quotation marks. A list will appear with the terms
found.
In version 0.8.2 some new option have been added to be used mainly by
the web interface:
--desc
Shows the description of the selected dictionary (in html).
--info-server
Shows info of the dict server (only if the selected dictionary
is of this kind). Generally it will give you info of the
dictionaries available in that server.
--info-dict
Ask info to the dict server over the selected dictionary.
--html
Returns a text in HTML format instead of plain text.
--html-base page
Sets the base page of the web interface.
--conf dir
Directory with the configuration files. This is used in the web
interface to read the configuration files from the directory
/etc/wordtrans, so wordtrans can be executed as the user nobody.
5.2. Examples
wordtrans -d i2e +w -c +i casa
The word casa will be searched in the dictionary i2e (English-
Spanish), with no case sensitive option, displaying in first
place the Spanish words. This is the output:

6. qwordtrans / kwordtrans
There are two version for X-Window: qwordtrans and kwordtrans. Both
are almost equal so I talk about them in the same section.
qwordtrans is the Qt version. The sources can be compiled with Qt
2.x.x (tested with Qt 2.0.2, 2.2.2 and 2.2.3).
kwordtrans is the KDE version. There are not much differences with
qwordtrans, the most important is that it will have the same look as
the other KDE applications. The most important difference is that it
could be docked in the KDE panel.
6.1. Parameters
qwordtrans and kwordtrans are the versions for X-Window.
6.1.1. Usage
qwordtrans [--help] [--conf dir] [Qt-options]
kwordtrans [--help] [--conf dir] [Qt-options] [KDE-options]
Wordtrans options:
--help
Shows a helping message.
--conf dir
Directory with the configuration files. This is used in the web
interface to read the configuration files from the directory
/etc/wordtrans, so wordtrans can be executed as the user nobody.
Qt-options. All Qt programs support the following parameters (from
qt-doc):
-style= style
sets the application GUI style. Possible values are motif,
windows, and platinum.
-session= session
restores the application from an earlier session.
-display display
sets the X display (default is $DISPLAY).
-geometry geometry
sets the client geometry of the main widget.
-fn or -font font
defines the application font.
-bg or -background color
sets the default background color and an application palette
(light and dark shades are calculated).
-fg or -foreground color
sets the default foreground color.
-btn or -button color
sets the default button color.
-name name
sets the application name.
-title title
sets the application title (caption).
-visual TrueColor
forces the application to use a TrueColor visual on an 8-bit
display.
-ncols count
limits the number of colors allocated in the color cube on a
8-bit display, if the application is using the
QApplication::ManyColor color specification. If count is 216
then a 6x6x6 color cube is used (ie. 6 levels of red, 6 of
green, and 6 of blue); for other values, a cube approximately
proportional to a 2x3x1 cube is used.
-cmap
causes the application to install a private color map on an
8-bit display.
KDE-options:
--help-qt
Show Qt specific options.
--help-kde
Show KDE specific options.
--help-all
Show all options.
--author
Show author information.
-v, --version
Show version information.
--license
Show license information.
6.2. How to use it
Using this application is very simple. Basically you type the word to
look for and qwordtrans will search it and display the matches found
in the selected dictionary.
6.2.1. Application window
The application has the following items (up to down):
6.2.1.1. Menus
· File
· New window. Opens a new main window. Important: This feature is
experimental, it has known problems. Nevertheless it will be always
better using this option than running two different processes of
qwordtrans (for instance, only one of the windows will try to save
the preferences).
· Save. If the option Options->Rich Text is on then the text will be
saved in HTML format, in other case it will be saved as plain text.
· Print. Obvious, isn't it?
· Exit. Closes the application.
· Translate
· Language1 -> Language2. Words in language1 will be shown first in
the output window.
· Language2 -> Language1. Words in language2 will be shown first in
the output window.
· Learn. If there is not translation for a word selecting this option
you can append it to the dictionary. A dialog will show where you
should type the word in both languages. Then, if there's no error,
the new translation will be saved in your personal dictionary.
· Dictionaries
· New... Lets you configure the application to use a new dictionary.
· Edit... Lets you edit the options of the current dictionary. You
can change the alias, icons, main & personal dictionary files, etc.
· <dictionary list> Here will be the list of available dictionaries.
You can select the one you're interested in. I must say that here
appear the dictionaries qwordtrans knows about, but there's no
check to see if the dictionaries are really installed. When the
application is closed it will saved the selected dictionary as the
default dictionary.
· Bookmarks
· Add bookmark. Stores in the list of bookmarks the latest searched
word.
· View
· Introduction. Shows the wordtrans introduction.
· Description of the dictionary. Shows the description of the
selected dictionary.
· Server info (only for dict dictionaries). It will connect to the
dict server and ask for some information, that usually shows the
available databases of that server.
· Dictionary info (only for dict dictionaries). It will ask the dict
server information about the databases which the dictionary is
using. That won't work if the selected database is "*", which means
"all".
· Options
· Full words. Only search for full words.
· Case sensitive. Obvious, isn't it?
· Rich text. If you disable it the text won't be process to add bolds
or links, it simply will display the text in the same way it is
received.
· Preferences
· Clipboard
· Watch. When you select this option the application will watch the
clipboard and translate the word which is there. That means that
by selecting a word in any application it will be automatically
translated. Hint: in most applications double clicking a word would
be to be selected.
· Adjust sensitivity. Lets you set how many milliseconds the the
clipboard will be checked.
· Fonts. Allows you to change the main font and output window font.
· Toolbar. You can change the size of the toolbar.
· Hide. Allows you to hide the toolbar, the status bar and the menu
bar.
· Change background colour. Here you can select a new background
colour for the output window.
· Animation effects. Enables or disabled the animation effects of
some widgets.
· Dock. (kwordtrans) The main window will be hidden and a small icon
will appear in the KDE panel. When clicking with the mouse left
button over that icon will make the main window to be shown again.
Clicking with the right button will show a menu where you can
activate the option to watch the clipboard and select a dictionary.
If the watch clipboard option is on, then whenever you select a
word in any application, the mini-window will show with the
translation of the word (if found). Clicking in any place of the
mini-window will make it to hide. I think this is a very useful
feature.
· Hide and use miniwindow. (qwordtrans) This option is quite similar
to "Dock" from kwordtrans, the only difference is that the main
window will be minimised instead of going to the KDE panel.
Everything else will be the same.
· Help (qwordtrans)
· Select browser... The application help is written in HTML so you
have to select a web browser. A dialog window will show where you
can choose among several popular web browsers.
· Contents. The previously selected browser will be run with the
contents page of this help
(/usr/share/doc/wordtrans/html/wordtrans_en.html).
· What's this. The cursor will be transformed in a question mark.
Clicking with it on some widgets will display some info about that
widget.
· Questionnaire. A window will be shown with a questionnaire. I
would appreciate if you could take some minutes to fill it. Your
answers could help me improve this application.
· About Qt. Show info about the library Qt.
· About... That shows the "About" dialog of this application.
· Help (kwordtrans)
· Contents. It will run konqueror to show you the HTML pages of this
application.
· What's this. The cursor will be transformed in a question mark.
Clicking with it on some widgets will display some info about that
widget.
· Bug report. It will open a dialog where you can report a bug.
· Questionnaire. A window will be shown with a questionnaire. I
would appreciate if you could take some minutes to fill it. Your
answers could help me improve this application.
· About kwordtrans. That shows the "About" dialog of this
application.
· About KDE. Info about the version of KDE.
6.2.1.2. Tool bar
qwordtrans has some icons in the tool bar, if you stop the mouse over
them for a while a tooltip will show telling you what's that button
for:
· Language1->Language2. See description in previous section. You
must know that "language1" and "language2" are replace with the
actual names of the languages in the selected dictionary.
· Language2->Language1.
· Learn.
· Watch clipboard.
6.2.1.3. Input text box
In this box you can type the word to look for. Pressing enter (or
clicking in the button on the right) the search will be performed.
6.2.1.4. Output window
Here is where the words matched will be displayed. If the application
is compiled with Qt 2 the search term will be in bold, improving the
legibility.
6.2.2. The right way of adding new translations
(From the i2e man page)
When adding words to the dictionary (button "Learn") it should be
taken into account that when a word allows several different
translations, they should be learned separately.
For example, 'hola' can be translated as 'hi' or as 'hello', so, in
order to add 'hola' to the dictionary with both translations, 'hola'
and 'hi' should be learnt first and then 'hola' and 'hello'.
6.3. Creating or adding a dictionary
The most of the times I talk about "dictionary" I'm referring to the
group of data (files, icons, language's names, etc.) that wordtrans
needs to be able to use a determined dictionary, but not to the
dictionary itself (the list of words with the equivalences for one and
another language).
6.3.1. New dictionary
With this option you can configure qwordtrans to support a new
dictionary. When selecting this option qwordtrans will create the
necessary structure to manage a new dictionary (with some data by
default). Once this is done it will show you the dictionary editing
dialog.
6.3.2. Dictionary editing dialog
When you edit or create a dictionary you'll see this dialog with some
fields you should fill:
6.3.2.1. Main
alias
The alias is used by the console version (binary wordtrans), to
choose the dictionary to use. It's also used as the
configuration file name in new dictionaries. The name will be
~/.wordtrans/typed_alias.conf. Once this file has been created
the file name won't be changed although you change the alias.
dictionary
Here you have to type the path where the main dictionary is. You
can click on the right button to select it from the file dialog.
personal
Here goes the file used as your personal dictionary, in other
words, where the new translations will be added. This file will
be stored in your HOME directory. Don't put an absolute file
name!
language 1
Name of the first language of the dictionary.
language 2
Name of the second language of the dictionary.
separator
Separator used by the dictionary to separate the words in a
language of the another one. i2e dictionary uses " : " (without
quotations marks), in other words, space, colon, space; while
trans-de-en dictionary uses " :: ".
icon 1
Here goes the icon that represents "translation of language 1
into language 2". In directory /usr/share/icons/wordtrans/ you
have some icons. You can make new ones with the gimp, for
example. I recommend that icons aren't bigger than 26x26
pixels.

Here goes the icon that represents "translation of language 1
into language 2".
NOTE: If you're editing a dict server dictionary this dialog will be
quite different. In section ``'' there's an explanation of that
dialog.
6.3.2.2. Description
You can type here a description for the dictionary. You can indicate
copyright info, where you download it from, or whatever you want.
You may also use some HTML-like tags, but lookout it is not HTML. If
you want to know exactly what tags you can use type man qstylesheet
(you'll need the Qt 2 development library installed to work).
7. How to use Babylon Translator's dictionaries
As of version 0.6.4 wordtrans supports dictionaries from Babylon
Translator. This support has been achieved using some code from
BabyTrans by Frederic Jolliton <fjolliton@free.fr>.
To use a Babylon Translator's dictionary obviously you have to have
installed Babylon Translator in windows. You can download it from
http://www.babylon.com.
You have to locate the following files:
· english.dic (common for all languages)
· Engto***.dic (where *** depending on the language, for example, the
English-Spanish dictionary is Engtospa.dic)
Now you have to copy these files to a directory in your linux
partition, or, set up wordtrans to use directly those files in the
windows partition.
7.1. Setting up through the GUI
The graphic interfaces qwordtrans and kwordtrans let you add a Babylon
Translator's dictionary easily.
· Select option New from menu Dictionaries
· Check the dictionary type as "babylon translator"
· You will see the dictionary editing dialog. The dialog is the same
as always, just some fields are disabled. In the field dictionary
you must type the file from the Babylon Translator corresponding to
the language you are going to use. Example, if you have copied the
previously mentioned files to the directory /usr/share/babytrans
and you want to use the English-Spanish dictionary then you should
fill this field with /usr/share/babytrans/Engtospa.dic
7.2. Setting up by hand
Create in your ~/.wordtrans/ a file named for example babylon.baby.
The name can be everything you want, but the extension has to be baby.
The contents of this file should be more or less this way:

general = /usr/share/babytrans/Engtospa.dic

idioma1 = /usr/share/wordtrans/i2e.xpm
idioma2 = /usr/share/wordtrans/e2i.xpm
In this example I supposed that the two files mentioned above have
been copied to /usr/share/babytrans/.
8. Dictionaries of the dict server
As of version 0.6.7 it is also possible to consult dictionaries from a
dict server in Wordtrans.
To do so you'll need to have installed the application dict. I
recommend to install the server dictd and some dictionaries for it. In
debian you have some in deb packages.
Wordtrans includes a generic configuration file (dictd.dconf), which
will try to connect to a local server (localhost) using port 2628. The
search will be performed in all ("*") databases in the server and with
the default search strategy of the server (".").
You can change it if you wish, or create other dictionaries to use
another server, or for looking only on a determined database, etc.
As you will notice, when you activate the dictionary editing dialog
(Dictionaries->New or Dictionaries->Edit) you will see that it is a
little different than the used in the other kind of dictionaries.
I think the dialog is self explaining and it's not necessary to
explain what's every option for. Just saying that in the option
Database the el asterisk ("*") means "all", and in Strategy the dot
(".") means "the default search strategy of the server". The rest of
databases and strategies are obtained from the server itself. The
button Update makes it to connect again to the server to update these
two lists.
If you have the server dictd installed, you may type man dictd to see
a complete description of every search strategy.
8.1. Links
The databases of dict servers have links (if you use dict or the
console version of wordtrans you will see the between {}). Well,
qwordtrans can locate these links and create real links (which you can
click on with your mouse) in the same way of HTML links.
This feature facilitates a lot queries in this type of dictionaries.
9. Compressed dictionaries
NOTE: the following doesn't apply to Babylon Translator's
dictionaries.
Now wordtrans can search in dictionaries compressed with gzip,
allowing you saving a little space.
The file you can compress is the main dictionary (i2e.dict or de-en).
The personal dictionary (where you save new translations) shouldn't be
compressed. If it is, wordtrans would search in it correctly, but when
you add a new translation wordtrans won't check if it is compressed or
not, supposing it is not compressed. So if you add new translations
to your (compressed) personal dictionary you will only get a corrupt
file.
10. Bugs and limitations
Known bugs
· None.
Limitations
· Sometimes it's not possible typing accented vowels in the QComboBox
when using Qt 2.2.2. I suppose it's due to a Qt bug. A work-around
for now is restarting qwordtrans.
· Sometimes the links are not underlined with Qt 2.2.2. Again I
suppose it's a Qt bug.
· It's not possible translating the names of the languages in the
configuration files, for now.
· If you have Qt 2.0 then you cannot select anything in the output
window. It's not my fault but QTextView. Qt 2.2.2 don't have this
problem (although it seems the selected text is not copied to the
clipboard).
· The console version has no support for dictionaries encoded in
UTF-8. Hint: the output can be filter throught recode. Example:
wordtrans -d spa-eng coche | recode -f UTF-8
11. Not yet asked questions
No, I haven't yet received any question... but here are some I think
someone could be thinking right now.
Q: Why the hell the console version depends on Qt?
A: Because I used some Qt objects like QString, QList, and maybe
something else.
Q: I don't have installed any of the browsers that qwordtrans offers
me, can I select another one?
A: For security reasons (o maybe for pure paranoia) it's not possible
to type the name of the browser you want to use. But there's another
way: edit ~/.wordtrans/preferencias and type in the option browser in
section [General] the browser you want to use. Look out: you must type
the command to run, in other words, if you're going to use a console
browser such as links you must type something like this: xterm -e
links.
Q: I'm using qwordtrans compiled with Qt 2, why I cannot select
anything in the output window?
A: It's a limitation of QTextView widget used in that version, but it
seems it is fixed in newer versions.
Q: How can I change the look? By default it's the ugly motif style.
A: With the -style option. If you use the version compiled with Qt 2
the values for the option can be: motif, windows, platinum and cde.
But if using the version compiled with Qt 1 the values can only be
motif or windows.
Example:
qwordtrans -style platinum
Q: I just read this manual and I hardly could understand it, why?
A: You couldn't understand it???? Well, it's strange because it's
written in a perfect English... ok, ok... yes, my English is very
bad... sorry for that. Corrections are welcome.
Q: I want to ask you a real question / I found a bug / I have a
