				VIM Reference Guide v 0.7
				------------------------

0. CHANGES from 0.6

	o Updated to VIM 5.6.
	o Added VIM mode description.

1. INTRODUCTION

This is a command and feature reference guide to VIM 5.6.

VIM (stands for Vi IMproved) - greatly improved (over original UNIX vi) text
editor with GUI, syntax highlighting, visual mode and many more new features
you won't find in the original vi.

VIM is Charityware. Please, see VIM documentation for further details.

VIM www site: http://www.vim.org

VIM author and maintainer: Bram Moolenaar <bram@vim.org>

-------------------------

This guide is designed and typeset by Oleg Raisky using LaTeX. The text of the
guide is comprised of various VIM documentation files, sometimes modified for
better consistency with overall style of the guide.

*NOTE*: this is NOT a complete user guide or tutorial. The only purpose of this
guide is to give a VIM user a quick and handy reference.

2.	FILES

You should find the following files in the tar file:

	1. vimguide-0.7-bkl[pln].letter[a4].ps -	PostScript source file.
	2. Readme - this file
	3. Readme.bkl - how to make a booklet from (almost) any
		PostScript file.

3.	REQUIREMENTS

If you want to extract even and odd only pages you will
need "psselect" (from "psutils" package) or Ghostview.

Here are some web links you may find useful. Also, check my VIM page:

	http://www.sci.ccny.cuny.edu/~olrcc/vim/

psutils (UNIX):

	http://www.cdrom.com/pub/tex/ctan/help/Catalogue/ctp.html#psutils

psutils (Win'95/NT) (this is a part of Web2c TeX distribution):

	http://www.cdrom.com/pub/tex/ctan/help/Catalogue/ctw.html#web2c-win32

*NOTE* for Win'95/NT users: you will also need a port of GNU ghostscript
package in order to print on non-PostScript printer. Should be able to find
elsewhere.

4. PRINTING

a. For DUPLEX printers:
--------------------

Just send it to print.

b. For non-DUPLEX printers:
------------------------

Print odd pages, rotate the stack of pages and print even pages. You
may want to try just a few pages first to find the right way for your printer.

Enjoy,

Oleg Raisky
