"Ildp" means "Il Lavoro Duro Progredisce" (the hard work progresses), or
"Italian Linux Documentation Project", to your taste.

			   Configuring man
                           ===============

First thing, you need to tell man that you'd rather read manpages in
Italian: to do so, you should set (in .bash_profile, e.g.) the
environment variable LANG to it_IT:

export LANG=it_IT

Then, You should set LESSCHARSET to latin1:

export LESSCHARSET=latin1

This takes care also of less(1) displaying latin1(7) characters properly.

Then, you need to edit the man configuration file (/etc/man.config or
/etc/man.conf):
    NROFF           /usr/bin/groff -Tlatin1 -mandoc
    NEQN            /usr/bin/geqn  -Tlatin1
