Stopping Apcupsd

Normally, when properly installed, apcupsd will be started
and stopped automatically by your system. Unfortunately, the details
are different for each system. Below, we give the commands for
selected systems. Alternatively, there are simple stopapcupsd
and startapcupsd scripts in the examples directory, or
you can modify one of the scripts in the distributions
directory to meet your needs.

To stop apcupsd you can do the following:

On RedHat systems:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/apcupsd stop

On SuSE systems:

/etc/rc.d/apcupsd stop
