			Wallpaper
			For setting the backdrop
			by Thomas Leonard

BRIEF

This program can be used to set the background image for your pinboard, if
you are using ROX-Filer 1.3.1 or later to manage it. Use an older version of
Wallpaper to set the background with older versions of the filer.

Note that ROX-Filer already allows you to set an image or plain colour for
the backdrop. Wallpaper lets you do more interesting things...

INSTRUCTIONS

Click on the Wallpaper application to run it. There are two modes of
operation:

Random: You supply a selection of images and one is chosen at random.

Advanced: You supply a command which generates an image.

In either case, a new image is set each time you log in or reselect the
current pinboard. You can also set the backdrop to change again at set
intervals.

RANDOM MODE

Use the three buttons to open the directories where the images are kept.
You can copy or symlink images into these directories. When picking a
random image, Wallpaper will choose one of these files and display it.

Set the 'Change every' time to zero if only want a new backdrop at login
time, or choose how often you want the backdrop changed instead.

Click on the 'Activate Random mode' button to set the backdrop now and in
the future.

ADVANCED MODE

Using the second tab, you can set the backdrop by using a command to
generate the image. The example command runs the 'xearth' program to
generate a view of the Earth at the current moment in time.

The XEarth application must be installed for this to work. See the xearth(1)
manpage for a list of additional options to use.

GETTING RID OF WALLPAPER

To stop Wallpaper managing the pinboard backdrop, choose 'Backdrop...'
from ROX-Filer's pinboard menu and click on Clear (or set an image).
