Copyright (C) 1998 by Marcin Dalecki <dalecki@cs.net.pl> -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is OOkkii - CCrrraacckk oki4w / oki4w-plus printer language to xbm translater -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The simple program found in this directory serves only single one purpose: CRACKING and documenting the OKI4w GDI printer command language during the developement process for a propper UNIX/Linux driver for this device. Esp. anybody can use it to check if maybe some other of those GDI printers doesn't use the same communication language. Despite of this it's of no other use then containing the best and most accurate documentation about the command language in question I can imagine of. -> See the parser code and comments therein. It takes the raw output which will normally be send directly to the printer (or in UNIX speech /dev/lp0 :-) and renders it into a sequence of files called page{0..n}.xbm in the xbm format. The only reason, why I choosed the xbm format is the fact that it's simple like hell to use. Hard disk space and speed didn't matter for me, due to the fact that I'm quite well equipped. After the conversion please use any bitmap browser of your's choice to view the results. OKI / OKIDATA wasn't in any way involved in the developement of it. The fact that those fuckhead's didnt give me any documentation, made this program neccessary. It show's how little it need's to crack that simple protocolls. Tought, the compression method was the interresting part of it. Marcin Dalecki
