There are two mailing lists for users of the HylaFAX software:
<UL>
<LI><A HREF="mailto:flexfax@sgi.com">flexfax@sgi.com</A>, a public list for all users of the HylaFAX software (actually located at celestial.com);
<LI>flexfax-announce@sgi.com, a low volume list
where announcements of new versions of HylaFAX are posted.
</UL>

<KBD>flexfax@sgi.com</KBD> tends to have a
fair amount of traffic about the server-side software;
if you are not running a fax server it may not be worth joining.
Beware also that this mailing list has many people on it. Please take this
into consideration when posting notes to it; i.e. <EM>avoid posting large
trace logs and the such</EM>. Also, when corresponding about this software
please always specify:

<UL>
<LI>what version you have (check <A HREF="version.html">here</A>
    if you are unsure of your software version),
<LI>what system you're running on (if it is Linux please name the distribution),
    and,
<LI>if the problem is modem-related, identify the modem and the firmware
    revision.
</UL>

For example: "HylaFAX v4.0pl2 under RedHat Linux 4.2 with gcc 2.7.2;
ZyXEL 1496E with 6.11a firmware."

<P>
Please <I>cc</I> a copy of your patches and bug reports to
patches@hylafax.org and bugs@hylafax.org respectively.

<P>
The mailing list is archived at
<A HREF="http://www.hylafax.org/archive/index.html">www.hylafax.org/archive</A>.

the <KBD>flexfax</KBD> and <KBD>flexfax-announce</KBD>

the announcement list are automatically fed to the normal
<KBD>flexfax</KBD> list.</EM>

<P>
If you want to subscribe to either of these lists
you need to send electronic mail that includes <STRONG>only</STRONG>
a <I>subscribe</I> request in the

    subscribe
</PRE>

To specify a mailing address other than the one used to post your

mailing list use:

<PRE>
    To: flexfax-announce-request@engr.sgi.com
