camdump release 1.0 README Introduction "camdump" is a simple frontend for the gphoto2 libraries. It takes a single command-line argument: the directory into which it should copy downloaded pictures. It then queries the first recognized camera and downloads any files from the camera which do not already exist in the target directory. License "camdump" is provided under the terms of the GPL version 2. See the file COPYING for details. System requirements libgphoto2 2.1.0 or greater SWIG 1.3 perl-GTK Mandrake notes The Mandrake RPM includes a hotplug script which will run camdump whenever a suitable camera is detected. Just make sure you have an /etc/sysconfig/camera file containing a setting for CAMDUMP telling it where to put the files, e.g. "CAMDUMP=/usr/local/camdump-images". The directory must exist and be writable by the user logged in on console when the camera is plugged in. Standard disclaimer "camdump" works for me, and is provided in the hope that you will find it useful. If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces. -- Aaron Peromsik <aaron@peromsik.net>
