Certain parts of the ecasound implementation have recently changed and
the header files are now in /usr/local/include/libecasoundc instead of
/usr/local/include/ecasound

As a result if you are using a version of ecasound before 2.2 you must 
uncomment the line 
/*define _OLD_ECASOUND*/
in ecasound.c before running make.
